Brass Beauty

I have noticed lately, for good reason, that people are using brass and bronze fixtures in their interiors projects, as well as in jewelry and fashion.  I am loving the contrast between brass and white and brass and black.

Space to Create

Studio space is so important.  All you need is nice work table, natural light, lots of surface room, a confortable task chair, pin board, a grand selection of pens, markers, pencils, paper, book shelves, and of course a Mac.
Here are some of my favorite work spaces.

Nimes - Traditional and modern city living at its best

Anyone looking for the Provencal idyll, the city of Nimes (which someday I wish to visit) is a unique place which offers  a taste of all the influences that makes the South of France so special. Nimes is a city that is full of Roman heritage and offers a sophisticated blend of traditional culture and modern city living. Best of all, it is surrounded by the magical countryside of Provence, the Camargue and the Cevennes: this is the land of lavender and olives, and Cotes du Rhone wine trails.
This home is located in Nimes.  I love the old stone, the lap pool, the black trimmed windows and doors, the simple stair railing, the monochromatic white scheme on the main floor and the dark grey on the second floor.

South of France country living

I love comfy simple homes and this house, which is located in somewhere in the South of France looks to be just that. The natural light, gardens, and mountains surrounding make for a cozy home inside and out.

Casa Midy

I’ve been a long time admirer of the work of CasaMidy founders Jorge Almada and Anne-Marie Midy. Anne-Marie grew up in France and Jorge in Mexico.  I have had the pleasure of sharing taxi rides with their beautiful family and seeing them when they visit Sayulita (the town I live in Mexico.)  Their objective of “combining contemporary design with traditional artisan methods of manufacture,” has created a large range of beautiful furniture and home accessory pieces. They also offer four uniquely designed homes for rent located in Mexico and France, which reflect their rustic elegant aesthetic. Casamidy has showrooms in Brussels, Belgium and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
